Millionaire Kids Ezine, Issue #025 - 5 Jobs for 13 Year Olds to Make Money Online
April 09, 2009
Are There Really Jobs for 13 Year Olds to Make Money Online?
And do you want to know something?
So can you! And it's not hard to do either.
Once your kids start making their own money online...
Learn a ton...
Have a lot of fun...
And be bursting with pride when they make their OWN money online!
Especially when they don't have to ask you for money when they want to buy something.
If my 4 kids can make money online, so can your kids.
Then let's get started.
The first two ways to make money online deal with affiliate marketing.
What exactly is Affiliate Marketing?Affiliate marketing is simply a way to refer sales to a merchant, via your internet link, and get paid a commission from the merchant.
For example, my daughter Maria (13) earns a commission every time a visitor buys a product from the Pet Store on her cute dog training website!
Here Are 5 Ways Kids Can Make Money Online:
1) Blog about things they like...and things they don't likeIf your kids start a blog and post daily, fresh, original content, the search engines will notice.
And with a little promotion of their blog, they will get traffic.
And start making money.
One of the easiest ways to make money with their blog is to provide links to various products and services related to their site. (affiliate marketing)
Then, when a visitor purchases the goods or services, the "kid" gets a commission.
You can also add related google adsense ads (at no charge) to your blog and earn a commission every time a visitor “clicks” on your ad.
Blogging has become a very popular way to make money online for kids.
It can also be sort of addicting...especially for teens.
So be sure you check in on your kids blogs occasionally!
You can start your own free blog at:1. Wordpress (my favorite)
2) Posting in ForumsDo your kids like hanging out in forums and chatting to other people?
Would they like to get paid to post in forums? Talking about things they're interested in?
New forums have a problem. Dying. If there aren't a lot of current conversations going on in a forum, people get bored and don't stop to talk.
In order to keep the chat flowing, forum owners are willing to pay for posts.
So lucky for kids, they can jump in, start chatting and get paid to post in forums..
Here's another way to make money posting in forums.
In nearly every forum, there is a space provided for their "signature". It's underneath every post they make.
So your kids can include their "affiliate link" in their signature.
If a forum visitor likes your post, reads your signature containing your link, and clicks through to make a purchase...
Just like magic, they earn a commission!
Here are 3 Get Paid to Post Forums:1. Wired Flame
You must be fluent in English and each post must be 20 words.
Each post will be reviewed for quality by the staff and you'll be paid 15 to 20 cents per post
2. My Lot
This forum can be sort of addicting because of all the interesting posts from users all over the world.
Your kids can make money posting about their specific interests as well as personal experiences.
They also have the opportunity to earn even more money if they refer their friends to get-paid-to-post as well. This is a key motivator to keep them actively posting!
3. Fusion Cash
This is actually a paid survey site as well. But if you make a minimum of 30 posts a month to their forum, you get paid $3 dollars a month. That comes out to be 10 cents a post.
Plus, you can earn a dollar for every referral you send who signs up for free.
3) Make money selling items on eBay, craigslist, or etsy (handmade or vintage items). It's amazing how much kids know about certain things! Things like video games, computers, laptops, movies, music, (and for me flowers) are commonplace to most kids today.
So why not let them cash in on their expertise? After all, they're instant experts.
Kids can use their expertise to find bargains, promote, and sell these products for huge profits.
Here are some highly profitable products they could sell:Old cell phones
I-pods (even broke ones!)
Digital cameras (again – even broke ones)
Just be sure they include a picture. Plain and simple - pictures sell.
4) Complete legitimate paid surveys:How would you like to get paid for your opinion? Or to try out new products?
Filling out surveys is one of the easiest (and most popular) ways kids can make money online.
As a result, there are many scammers who have reared their ugly head. It's important to know where to look and which companies are legitimate so your kids don't get ripped off.
But legitimate companies pay well. And they pay often.
Here are 2 more legitimate paid survey sites to consider:1. Fusion Cash
2. Snap Dollars
If you sign up with at least 2 companies, you'll have more variety in paid surveys.
Sell their skills and services online. This is the easiest and yet most overlooked way for kids to make money online.
There are thousands of people out there publishing online content.
And they don't have time for routine, mundane tasks like...
Setting up email accounts...
Researching key words...
Or posting in forums.
Every day, these services are paid for.
So if your kids could perform these tasks, they could get paid very well!
A Word of CautionIt's very important to consider the age, maturity and skills of your child.
As you well know, no two kids are alike!
Safety is the first priority. Be sure to monitor what your kids are doing online so they don't get taken advantage of.
Making money online is the perfect opportunity to teach your kids about responsibility, money management, and sharing the fruits of their labor, ie giving.
Not to mention a fun and profitable way you and your kids can work on something together!
These are just 5 ways your kids can make money online.
There are many more ways for 13 year olds and younger to make money both online and offline! If your kids could use an extra $50 dollars or more every week, take a minute to check out an ebook I've written on 51 ways for kids to make money FAST...
A Fun Way for Little Kids To Make Some CashHooray!!! Spring has finally sprung!
I can't wait to get my hands in the dirt!
One of my many spring chores is to thin out my phlox and hostas in the garden.
Did you know that hostas are one of the most purchased plants in garden centers?
My kids pot up extra hosta plants and sell, sell, sell!
If you have extra plants, offer them for sale and watch the money grow!
Profitable Investment Idea:It's not surprising that the economy is causing a lot of stress these days.
Nearly 30 percent of Americans are losing sleep because of it.
And - according to the findings of a landmark Gallup poll - Americans' stress levels soared in 2008 and continue to rise in 2009.
So how are people coping?
Lots of chocolate!!
More and more Americans are turning to a tried-and-true stress reliever for comfort: Candy.
While auto manufacturers, big banks, and insurance companies are falling like dominoes...candy companies are thriving.
Cadbury's profits rose 30 percent in 2008.
Nestle's increased by nearly 11 percent.
And my personal favorite, Hershey's profits surged by 8.5 percent in the last quarter of 2008 alone.
So you can cash in during the recession by padding your portfolio with these "sweet" companies!
Random Acts of TithingWhen I was a little girl growing up...
My friends and I used to make May baskets for our neighbors, teachers, and grandparents.
We would pick bunches of wild flowers...
Decorate homemade, colorful homemade paper cones...
And on May 1st...
leave them on the doorsteps of unsuspecting neighbors and relatives.
Who doesn't like getting bouquets of flowers? Especially from sweet children with big hearts?!!
Give it a whirl!
It's Good to Know...Did you know that the U.S. Mint is offering for sale the first-ever silver dollar coin to feature readable Braille?
The silver (90 percent) dollar features a portrait of Louis Braille, the inventor of the system used by blind people worldwide, on one side.
And on the flip side of the coin, there is the image of a young boy reading a book in Braille.
Above the boy are the Braille characters for "Braille."
What a great tribute!
So if you collect coins...
(my daughter Maria collects the presidential gold dollar coins)...
you might want to add this Braille silver dollar to your collection!
Cheap Family FunWho says family fun means you have to go broke?!
You can find free fun for the whole family...if you know where to look!
Go for a hike...
Or a bike ride...
Organize a softball or basketball game at your local park...
Check out live, free outdoor concerts...
Have a scavenger hunt...
Rent free movies at the library...
Plus, you can Impress With Less
Instead of an expensive dinner, have a picnic on the beach!
Happy Easter to all of my Christian readers and Happy Parenting to All!
